VENUS IN GENERAL

Venus rules all nice, tender, soft, smooth, sweet, beautiful things in human life. It is also the lord of sexual relationships between males and females, though it has to be remembered that Venus has nothing to do with sodomy, or lesbian, or homosexuality tendencies. Very often students in astrology try to search for this type of relationship under the influence of Venus. For example, tenderness, smoothness, and softness of human skin is the domain of Venus. But ailments and medical complaints related to skin are under Mars and Sun. Similarly friendship with opposite sex (maybe of platonic type) is under control of Venus, but break-off of the friendship is caused by other stars. Sexuality in men and their ability to satisfy the female partner in bed is ruled by Venus, but partial or complete lack of capacity to satisfy a female depends collectively on Venus, Mars and Moon.

Individuals with favourable placement of Venus in Birth-chart or Navamsha-chart achieve efficiency in fine arts such as music, acting, dance, paintings (generally of murals and portraits of persons). Venus gives a liking for top class perfumery, jewellery (real or imitation), ornaments, high quality apparel according to or even beyond one’s financial capacity.

Then comes the question of procreation. This is not the domain of Venus alone. It is the domain of Venus and Mars collectively, because Venus is lord of the semen in men (and that is why our ancients gave a common name to both Venus and semen as “SUKRA” in Sanskrit, Hindi, and other languages flowing from Sanskrit). Mars is the master of the menstrual (blood) system in females. While predicting about progeny, begetting children, as also sex of the child in the womb, a deep study of both Mars and Venus is needed. Venus would indicate if the semen of the man is fully competent to produce children or not. If it is semi-strong, conception would take place, but the pregnancy would not reach the stage of full para and delivery of a full-grown baby. Experience shows that there have been cases of 3 to 5 miscarriages of conceptions to certain females, and normally medical experts searched the problem mainly in the female’s system, but when astrology suggested, the semen of the male was tested and found defective and weak in procreation.

Otherwise normally miscarriage or abortion is influenced by Mars, Saturn, Rahu and to a limited degree under influence of Sun and Ketu. There are several medical grounds and causes to determine the origin of the miscarriage or abortion, and astrology is guided in this respect by medical science also. The ancient acharyas have dealt with, in great detail, all questions relating to:

(a) childlessness,

(b) getting only female issues,

(c) getting only male issues,

(d) loss of first pregnancy or repeated loss of pregnancy,

(e) still birth i.e. a dead baby being delivered after full para,

(f) death of a child within one year of birth.

And similar many other matters related to pregnancy and childbirth. Here only a mention has been made because all these subjects relate to VENUS in one way or the other, no doubt in association with, or under influence of other stars. However, it should always be borne in mind that all or any of these subjects should not be dealt with on the basis of birth stars of one-person only (i.e. of the husband or the wife alone). Very often it happens that people coming for consultation show Birth-chart and other details of the horoscope of one person (husband or wife) only. Sometimes they even avoid showing the Birth-chart of the other partner and resisting it in such cases as this; it is better then to refuse to give any consultation or predictions.

Though two more questions are not directly relevant here, it is better to mention them just for general knowledge. The first is whether the child in the mother’s womb is a male or a female. Medical science has no doubt now devised tests to declare the sex of the embryo in the womb, but astrologers should as far as possible avoid answering this question. In spite of very detailed and deep study of the birth stars of both husband and wife, a high percentage of accuracy is never found in this type of prediction. Several instances have come to notice where even medical tests have failed badly to predict the sex of the embryo in the womb.

The second question relates to who of the two (husband and wife) would die first. Even if the astrologer is sure about the accuracy of the prediction, positively avoid it. It might give origin to rage and hatred towards the astrologer, as if the astrologer is the cause of earlier death of one of the two (husband or wife), besides the fear which such a thought implants in the mind of both.

Then another important question often posed to the astrologer is about the fidelity of the spouse. Even if the astrologer is sure in astrological study about the correct answer to this question, the answer might lead to suspicion in the mind of one partner in marriage/ love. It might develop into big bitterness between the husband and wife (or lovers), and sometimes leads to break off of the marriage/ love affair itself. Ancients have said that sometimes the dilemma before the astrologer is very great because TRUTH can be damaging or destructive.

Yet another question which confronts the astrologers is about the real father of the child when the woman has slept with more than one person during those 24 hours, or near about the period of conception. Sometimes the woman herself puts this question to the astrologer, and sometimes the husband or paramour of the lady confronts the astrologer with this question. It is better and safer to avoid direct or even indirect answers to this type of question. The answer, even if correct, might damage or destroy the marriage or the life of the embryo in the womb.

All these general points have been mentioned here, because a majority of the astrologers, even experienced and learned ones, relate them to VENUS. While with some of these questions Venus has no connection or concern and to some other questions Venus has a minor role to play as compared to the influence of other stars.
