28. Retirement

1. The 1st, 5th, 9th, and 12th signify retirement from service.
2. The 2nd, 6th, and 10th indicate service. So the 12th house to the 2nd, 6th, and 10th, which is the 1st, 5th, and 9th, show the end of service, or retirement.

29. Land or Building

a. Consider houses 4, 11, and 12 for purchase or construction of a building (4th is the main    house for building, 11th gain, 12th payment to the seller of the building or investment of money).

b. Consider the houses 3, 5 and 10 for disposing of the building or selling it (3rd is 12th from the 4th i.e. losing the house; 5th is 11th from the 7th i.e. gain to purchaser; 10th is 4th from the 7th i.e. building to the purchaser)

c. If the cuspal sub lord of the 4th is the significator of the 4th, 11th, or 12th, one will have his own building during the joint period of the significators of the 4th, 11th, and 12th.

Mars is the natural significator of buildings, Mercury is that of land and Saturn governs mines and estates. So,

If the sub lord of the 4th cusp is in the star of the occupant of the owner of 4, 11 or 12 and Mars or Mercury or Saturn is connected with this house, the naive will have his own building.

30. Foreign Travels

a. Consider the houses 3, 9 and 12 for foreign travels (3rd is 12th from 4th i.e. away from the permanent place; 9th long journey, foreign travel. 12th - life in an unknown place or completely unfamiliar atmosphere).

b. If the sub lord of the 12th cusp be the significator (in the star of the occupant or owner) of the 3rd, 9th, or 12th, and especially of the 9th, then foreign travel will be promised during the joint period (dashas) of the significators of the 3rd, 9th, and 12th.

c. Consider houses 4, 9 and 11 for returning to your home country from foreign land (4th governs motherland, 11th meeting one's own kith and kin, reunion of relatives).

31. Overseas for Studies

If the cuspal sub lord of the 12th is the significator of the 3rd, 9th, or 12th, foreign travel is promised during the joint period of the significators of the 3rd, 9th, and 12th. If education or higher studies is involved, we must also include the 4th and 9th houses.

32. Overseas Profession

Houses to be judged for traveling abroad are the 3rd, 9th, and 12th - and if the career or profession is involved, we must also include the 6th and 10th.

33. Finance and Prosperity

a. Profession/service: Consider the houses 2, 6 and 10 (2nd bank balance, self-acquisition; 6th services rendered, day to day attendance on duty and thereby earning; being 12th from the 7th denotes loss to others and gain to self, hence receiving money from others; 10th profession, either in independent vocation or in service). Saturn is the chief governor of profession.

b. Consider the houses 1, 5 and 9th for change of profession or service (being 12th from 2, 6 and 10 respectively).

c. Consider the houses 2, 6, 10 and 11 for promotion, rise in career or fortune; or for re-instatement in service.

d. Consider the houses 3, 10 and 12 for transfer in service with change of place (3rd-journey; being 12th from the 4th shows absence of the present residence i.e. change of place; 10th employment; 12th life in completely unfamiliar atmosphere.

e. Consider the houses 1, 8, 9 and 12 for suspension from service 1st is 12th from the 2nd - absence of self-earning; 8th suspension is one form of penalty; 9th is 12th from 10th-absence of status, position, power and name; 12th - loss in general).

f. Consider the houses 1, 5, 9 and 12 for retirement from service or dismissal; or loss of status in any walk of life (5th is the 12th from 6 i.e. absence of regular attendance on duty); also consider the house 8 if the native comes under the scheme of gratuity and provident fund.

If the sub lord of the 10th cusp or the 6th cusp is the significator of 2, 6 or 10 the native will earn money either in profession or service.Esteemed readers are requested to keep concentrate and read it carefully which is narrated below:

Dr. Andrew Dutta (a renowned KP astrologer) has noticed that so many KP astrologers, practitioners are making the mistakes of choosing the wrong main cuspal houses and supporting houses to judge change of job or profession.

The fault is not their own. It is because they have not understood the changes in the Sthaana-Kaala-Patra (context-time-native) of the era. Let me elaborate a little bit and shed light on this.

In earlier days (the era of late K.S. Krishnamurti, C.R. Bhatt, J. Hasbe etc that is during 1960s to 80s), almost all majority of service holders used to stick on to their "kind of job"--profession, even though they 'sometimes' changed their employer. Very seldom, however, they ever changed their line of profession. But some did do it.

It is here that many KP practitioners confuse the concepts of "change of job" versus "change of profession". Change of job--is about changing one's employer while remaining in the same field/profession. For example, a software engineer may change his job (service) from one company to another but still remains a software engineer.

Change of profession--is about not only changing the employer, but also changing the field/profession altogether. For example, a software engineer not only changes his company but joins an educational institute as a faculty/teacher to teach computing language.

We all know that in KP astrology, 6th house is the house of service, supported by house 10 as profession and 11 as regular/monthly income. The 2nd house is the house of accumulation of income.

So, for a change of job, we will have to consider it as a change in service/employer. So the main house should be the 6th cusp (house of service) signifying houses 5th (12th to 6th showing a completely new service environment), 1 (disruption in the accumulation of income) and 3 (change).

Whereas, for change of profession/field of working, the person is undergoing a vocational metamorphosis. So, the main house's cuspal sublord is 10th (house of profession). This 10th house should signify 9th (12th house to 10th hence showing complete change and new field), 5th (new employer/new service), 1 (disruption of income accumulation) and 3 (courage to change)

The reason why people fail in astrology prediction is that they do not know how the real world of their client operates and blindly follows rules from text books while making predictions.

34. Finance

a. Consider the houses 2, 6 and 11 for gain of money any manner.

b. Consider the houses 2, 3, 6 and 11 for the gain of lottery (3rd lottery and help from others).

c. Consider the houses 2, 5, 6 and 11 for gain from speculation 2nd race (5th-inclination for speculation for speculation).

If the sub lord of the 2nd cusp is in the star of a depositor in 6th or 11th, indicates very good financial status for him. If the star lord is deposited in 2nd or 10th, moderate affluence. If deposited at 3rd or 1st, he will have just satisfactory conditions prevail.

Jupiter and Venus are the chief governors of money.

35. Independent Business

Consider houses 2, 7 and 10 (7th dealings with others, purchase and sale of production; it is the main house for business).

1. If the cuspal sub lord of the 10th is the significator of the 2nd, 7th, or 10th, an independent business or profession is promised during the joint period of the significators of the 2nd, 7th, and 10th.
2. If the cuspal sub lord of the 7th is the significator of the 2nd, 10th or 11th, gain in business is promised during the joint period of the significators of the 2nd, 10th, and 11th.
3. Consider houses 2, 7 and 10 (7th is dealings with others, purchase and sale of production; it is the main house for business).
   

36. Industrialist

If the sub lord of the 7th cusp (business/industry) be the significator (in the star of the occupant or owner) of 2, 10 Or 11 and connected with the planet Mars, Venus or Saturn/Rahu the native gains in business or industry during the joint period of the significators of 2, 10 and 11.

37. Transport Business

If the sub lord of the 7th cusp (business/undertakings) be the significator (in the star of the occupant or owner) of 3 (inland communications and transport), 9 (long journey) and 11 (success in undertakings) and connected with the planet Mercury (communications), Venus (vehicle), Mars (machine), Moon-Venus (petrol), Moon-Venus-Mars (motor vehicle) along with bestial signs such as Aries, Taurus, Leo, 2nd half of Sagittarius and Capricorn (four wheeled vehicles) then the native gains in transport business during the joint period of the significators of 3, 9 and 11.

38. Litigation  

1. According to KP, the 6th house represents litigation, and the 7th house indicates the opponent in litigation.
2. Therefore, litigation would be imminent whenever the significators of the 6th and 7th houses are operating in life.
   The cause of the litigation is represented by the planets connected with - or associated with - the 6th house or its lord.
3. Success in litigation is promised by the lord of the 11th house or planets in the 11th house. Success is also ensured if the 6th and the 7th houses come under the influence of the lords of the stars or the occupants of the 1st, 3rd, 4th, 6th, 10th and 11th houses.
4. If the lord of the 6th house is connected with the 11th house, or the 11th house is connected with the lord of the 6th house, success in litigation is realized.
5. The above (#5) also suggests that the connection of the lords of the 12th and 5th houses will cause failure in absolute terms.

Summing up the above, if the sub lord of 6th or 11th cusp be the significator (in the star of the occupant of owner) 6, 10 and 11 houses and without any connection of 5 and 12 house, then success in litigation or court cases or fights is promised during the joint period of the significator of 6, 10 and 12.

The court case judgement arrived during the DBA which is connected with 9th and 3rd houses.

39. Lost Documents

If the cuspal sub lord of the 2nd or the 11th is the significator of the 2nd (movable article which is lost or stolen), the 6th (loss to thief, being 12th to the 7th-thief), or the 11th (regaining), movable property will be regained during the joint period of the significator of the 2nd, 6th, and 11th.

40. Mental Qualities

The sub lord of the Ascendant, Moon, and Mercury denote mental qualities. If they are in the star and sub of malefices connected with the 6th, 8th, or 12th, they signify conspiracy, criminal, diplomatic, malicious, revengeful, relentless, shrewd, crafty, and intriguing traits.

41. Licentious or Lascivious

By examining the 5th cusp sub lord and the significations of Venus & Rahu, one's love affair and sexual pleasure with another's wife can be found. It also shows the degree of success or failures achieved in love affairs and courtships for one can be seen in K.P.

Therefore, if the sub lord of the 5th cusp be the significator (in the star of the occupant or owner) of 5 (ill forced love/negative correlation/lust), 8 (sexual attachment/sexual organ) and 12 (bed pleasure/fraud and treachery) and connected with the Rahu, Mars or Venus then one become licentious or lascivious.

42. Attainment of Puberty

1. As per Sri K.M. Subramaniam, in the article 'On Attaining Puberty', Astrology & Athrishta August 1980 (also in Astro secrets & K.P. Part III, edited by K. Subramaniam, Krishman & Co., 2002, page 49 point 16):

a. In attaining puberty, the 5th cusp sub-lord should be the significator of the 5th or 8th or both; and Mars also should be well connected to 5th or 8th in any manner since Mars represents blood in the body.

b. For fructification consider the conjoined period of the significators of 2 (getting status in the family members as an adult), 5 and 11th (fulfilment of desire) houses, together with Mars, which should have some connections in any manner.

c. Saturn is a delaying planet but not to deny, if other significations are fruitful.

2. According to Prof. B. Suryanarain Rao, in 'Strijataka or Female Horoscopy', Raman Publications, 1964, the astrological writers in Sanskrit have attached the great importance of the first menses in a girl or puberty which is called Ruthu in Sanskrit. When Chandra is not in upachayas, viz. 3, 6, 10 and 11 and when the Lagna is powerfully aspected by Kuja the appearance of first menses should be predicted.

Summing up the above, If the sub lord of the 5th cusp be the significator (in the star of the occupant or owner) of 5 (getting mental status and understanding full matters connected to sexual organs), 8 (sex organs and their function) and 11 (fulfilment of desire) and connected with the well placed Mars (Blood in the body) and Moon (Hormonal fluids) together then, attainment if Puberty is promised during the joint period of the significator of 5, 8 and 11.

43. Child returning from the school

This has to work out on the sub number given by the mother of the child from the school. In the mother's chart if the 11th cusp sub lord signifies the 5th (child) and the 11th (fulfilment), the child will return when the transiting Lagna degree touches the 5th and 11th significators star and sub in a sign. This rule should not be applied for a missing son or a person.

44. Return of Missing Person

Consider the 3rd, the 9th, and the 12th for the missing person (counting from his or her Ascendant), and the 2nd, 8th, and 11th (being 12th to the 3rd, 9th, and 12th) for the person to return home.

If the 12th cusp sub lord becomes the significator (in the star or occupant or owner) of 3, 9 Or 12, a person runs away during the joint period of the significator of 3, 9 and 12.

If the 11th cusp sub lord becomes the significator (in the star of the occupant or owner) of 2, 4, 8 or 11, a person returns home during the joint period of the significator of 2, 4, 8 or 11.

45. To Reach Home

Consider the 4th cusp to reach home. 

If the sub lord 4th cusp is in the constellation of a planet in a movable sign and unafflicted, he/she will reach the destination (home) shortly. However, if the lord of the constellation in which the sub lord of the 4th cusp is in a fixed sign, the person may have to stay in a place for a long duration. But if the lord of the constellation in which the sub lord of 4th cusp is deposited is in common sign, then there will be delay.If the sub lord is afflicted by a natural malefic like Saturn or Ketu there will be undue delay and also the arriver have to undergo much suffering. If it is Mars or Rahu, some repairs also may be needed. However, if the lord of the constellation in which the sub lord of the 4th cusp is deposited is conjoined with a benefic, then after delay the arrival will reach their home safely.
