46. Getting to know the news

If the cuspal sub lord of the 3rd (news) be the significator (in the star of the occupant or owner) of the 3rd and the 11th, the querent will hear new.

47. Meeting/Interview

One should judge the houses 3 (for meeting, interview, discussion), the 3rd to the 7th i.e. 9th; and the 11th houses.

      The sub lord of the 11th cusp is deposited in the constellation whose lord is in direct motion, there may be sooner or later he will have the interview. But if the sub lord of the 11th cusp is deposited in the constellation of a planet in retrograde motion, he cannot have the interview.

If the 11th cusp sub lord is the significator (in the star of the occupant or owner) of 3 (meeting, interview, discussion), 9 (meeting with person) or 11 (gain, success) then a meeting/interview is assured.

      To succeed in a meeting or interview to get a job, we need to check 3rd and 9th cusp sub lords. If the cuspal sub lord of 3rd or 9th be the significator (in the star of the occupant or owner) 2, 6, 10, 11 then one should definitely be successful in Meeting or Interview during the joint period of the significator of 2, 6, 10 and 11.

48. Political Career/Success in political elections

What we mean by politics is to rule over masses. Political elections are very different from general competition or selection.

      In terms of political aspects, Saturn denotes diplomacy; Sun government, power, position, name, and fame; Jupiter dignity and wisdom; Mars coercion, controlling power and dominance; Rahu politics and tips & tricks.

      Leo, Sagittarius, Capricorn, and Aquarius; movable signs, houses 6, 10, and 11 are to be considered for cases of politics and public life.

      Ascendant denotes inclinations; 10th house cusp ambitions; 11th cusp realization of ambitions and aspirations, success in undertakings.

     The planets to judge politics are Jupiter, the celestial Chief Minister, Mercury, the winged messenger of God, Mars, the commander-in-chief (leader) and Saturn the indicator of position of trust.

      Houses 1, 6, 9, 10 and 11 are auspicious for politics. The lagna stands for success, the 6th, the house of defeat and loss to opponents represents victory over opponents; the 9th, the Bhagya bhava, indicates fortune and providential help, the 10th shows public esteem, popularity, honour and dignity and the 11th denotes fulfilment of aspirations and general success in life.

The 10th house is especially important for politics, Jupiter, Mercury, Mars and Saturn should signify houses 1, 6, 9, 10 and 11 jointly or severally for success in politics. Well placed Jupiter, Mercury and Mars give capacity to convince the public by clear and meticulous analysis of facts.

      Summing up the above, if the sub lord of the 10th (power/status) cusp be the significator (in the star of the occupant of owner) 6, 10 and 11 and connected to Sun (Government) Moon (Public drillings), Mars (command/dominance), Mercury (intellect and communication skills), Saturn (endurance/diplomacy) and Rahu (politics/cunningness/tips and tricks) and not linked with 9th, 5th and 12 house; then during the joint period of the significator of 6, 10 and 11 he shines as a statesman or a politician or success in political elections is promised.

49. Publishing a Book  

1. Consider the 3rd and 11th houses for writing and publication of books.  
2. If the cuspal sub lord of the 3rd and the 11th is Mercury (writings) or Jupiter (publications), or if it is the significator of the 3rd and the 11th,and if the star lord of this cuspal sub lord is connected with Mercury and Jupiter, the querent can write a book and publish it.
3.  During the joint period of the significators of the 3rd and the 11th, the book will be written and published. These significators are generally connected with Mercury (writing), Jupiter (publications), and Mars (printing).

Summing up the above, if the 3rd cusp sub lord be the significator (in the star of the occupant or owner) of 3, 9 and 11 and well connected with Mercury, Jupiter and Mars then, publishing a book is promised during the joint period of the significator of 3, 9 and 11.

50. What is “Punarphoo”?

i. It is said that whenever Saturn has any connections with the Moon, obstacles arise giving delays - along with headaches, fears, and anxieties. These uncertainties are caused by the distressing combination of the Sa/Mo connections.  

1. Punarphoo is a term for Moon-Saturn aspects in the Natal Chart. 
2. Punarphoo pertains to any one of these:a. Saturn in the star of the Moon and his own sub,b. or Moon is in the star of Saturn and in her own sub,c. or if Moon and Saturn are in the same sign.  
3. The condition pertains also if the Moon is in the star of Saturn and in the sun of the Moon,or if the Moon is the 3rd or 10th sign from Saturn, to Saturn's 3rd and 10th aspect from the Moon.  
4. Punarphoo also applies to Saturn aspects to the chart in general.

ii. The Cancellation of Punarphoo:The subject of Cancellation of Punarphoo had been discussed by the late Pt. K.R. Kar, issued in the 1996 Annual: K.P. & Astrology, (pages 69-72).

Cancellation takes place briefly when:  

Saturn or Moon are found in association with the Sun, in one sign. (could be divided into two bhavas).  

1. The sun is in the star of either of them.  
2. Sun is in a star lord of which is near either Moon or Saturn.  
3. When there is any planet close to the Moon or Saturn, in the star of the Sun.  
4. And lastly, Saturn or Moon is in the sub-sub of the Sun.  
   
5. "It is hoped that the above "Cancellation of Punarphoo" theory will help readers to do more research on this interesting subject - which is full of pitfalls for the average follower of K.P."

51. Rival Competition

In cases of competition and contests between two rival parties in any walk of life (sports, politics, etc.), if the cuspal sub lord of the 11th house (success) and that of the 6th (defeat to the rival) occupy the 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 6th, 10th, or 11th and are in the star of the occupant of the 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 6th, 10th, or 11th, the team or competitor under query will win the match.

52. Selling a House

When will I be able to sell my home?

If the cuspal sub lord of the 10th (house going to the buyer) be the significator (in the star of the occupant or owner) of the 3rd (parting with the house; 12th from 4th) or 10th house, the house can be sold during the joint period (Dasha, Bhukti, Antara) of the significators of the 3rd, 5th, and 10th.

53. Who Survives Whom?

Will I pass away before my spouse, or will my spouse pass away before me?

If the sub lord of the 7th house cusp occupies a dual (mutable) sign and it happens to be the significator of Marakasthana and Badhakasthana, the spouse passes away earlier. This same rule applies when referencing the longevity of the second spouse, only with respect to the second spouse (in the event there have been two marriages) you have to then judge the 2nd cusp sub lord rather than the 7th.

54. Eyesight/Vision  

Sun, Moon, and Venus denote vision, while Mercury governs the nervous system.  

Consider the 2nd (right eye), the 12th (left eye; defect), the 6th (disease), and the 8th (danger).  If the sub lord of the 12th cusp is the significator of the 6th, 8th, or 12th, then only during the joint period (dashas) of the significators of the 2nd and the 12th, the eye sight becomes defective.  

1. If the Sun, Moon, or Venus is:

a. The sub lord of the 12th cusp and

b. The significator of the 2nd or 12th

      2. Then there is a greater possibility of defective vision.  

      3. Eyesight might be lost during the periods of Sun, Moon, or Venus if:a. Sun, Moon, or Venus is the significator of the 2nd or 12th andb. Its sub lord is connected with the Sun, Moon, or Venus and the 12th. 

      4. Eyesight might be lost during the periods of a planet if:a. Its star lord is Sun, Moon, or Venus, andb. Its sub lord is connected with the Sun, Moon, or Venus, and the 12th.

55. Intuition  

Only when the Moon and Mercury have harmonious aspects can one have clear exposition, proper wording, good vocabulary, and intuition. The 9th house, lord, significator, and sub, aspects, etc., should also be examined for intuition!  

1. The moon is called the mind. It is like a mirror - exactly reflecting the object.
2. Mercury is for supreme intelligence, as it governs the central nervous system. It is like a lens.
3. Therefore whenever these two planets form or receive favourable aspects, they give high imagination, linguistic capabilities, keen observation, intuitive perception, quick grasp, retentive power, reproductive ability, fluency of speech, and general success - especially in astrology.
4. So those who have strong Mercury aspects will thoroughly analyze, properly apply, and correctly predict.

56. To Lead a Spiritual Life

The sub lord of ascendant being Ketu, deposited in the constellation of planet in 9th the and Ketu in some manner connected to Saturn and 12th, if he has Venus well connected to mars, he will lead a family life and spiritual life without taking sanyasa margam, (kethu gnanakaraka, 9 philosophy and higher knowledge, 12th for service to others).

57. Saint  

1. Sun - spirit; Moon - mind; Jupiter - morals, religion and philosophy; Saturn - meditation, renunciation, penance; Ketu - spiritualism, sainthood.
2. Houses 4, 8, and 12; Cancer, Scorpio, and Pisces, show spiritual tendencies. The 9th house and Sagittarius denote morals, devotion, philosophy, religion, intuition, and farsightedness. The 5th house denotes spiritual practice. the 12th house denotes self-sacrifice, seclusion, renunciation, emancipation.  

a. If the sub lord of the Ascendant (outlook) is the significator (in the star of the occupant or owner) of the 3rd (mental tendencies), the 10th (aims) and the 12th (renunciation), or connected with the 3rd, 10th or 12th and Saturn, the native leans toward renunciation or once can become a Sanyasi (monk).

b. If the sub lord of the 11th cusp (fulfilment of desires) is the 10th or connected with the 5th and 10th, the native achieves spiritual attainment.

58. Attaining Salvation

Lagna, denotes mental disposition and changes in individual life, if the sublord of lagna happens to be kethu who is moksha karaka as well as gnanakaraka and situated in the star of a plenet in 12 and connected 9 through sub or some other manner, then the native's mental disposition will be poised towards mokshasthana.

59. Vaaksiddhi

If the sub lord of the 2nd cusp is Jupiter and signifies the 11th house, whatever he speaks is true and comes to pass (VAAKSIDDHI). If it is Mars, he is argumentative and authoritative. If it signifies the 8th, it indicates quarrelsome nature in his speech. If it is Venus and signifies 11th and 5th, one mix sex matters and about ladies in speech invariably in all his talks. If the sub lord of the 2nd cusp is SATURN, one behaves hide & seek and jugglery of words while speaking, even though the matter is genuine.

60. Chastity

If the Lagna cusp sub lord is full significator to the 11th and well connected to Jupiter, she will be a chaste woman.

61. Debauch

If the Lagna cusp sub lord is fully connected to Saturn or Mars or Venus and if the sub lords of 5 & 11 are connected to either of the above 3 planets, one will become a debauch, and try to be an incest. (having sexual pleasure prior to legal wed lock).

If the sub lord of the 5th cusp sub lord signifies 10th & 12th, one's prestige is lost. One's property is lost if the 5th sub lord signifies the 4th and 12th through debauchery, and if it signifies 2nd and 12th one's chastity is lost by debauchery.

62. Witch

A woman can be a Witch, only when the Ascendant sub lord is in a fiery sign, having connection with the 3 evil houses 6th, 8th, and 12th and along with Saturn, Mars and Ketu in some or other way. One should take good care in comparing the connections obtained by the ascendant sub lord, to predict such a character.

63. Speaking truth

To find whether one speaks the truth, if his 2nd cusp sub lord is Mars - untruth and mischievous If it is Saturn, he hides some news. If it is Mercury - will give detailed information. If he is Venus - he is a peacemaker. If the sun - will never lie and be a noble. If it is Jupiter - tell the truth always.

64. Spendthrift

If the sub of the 2nd cusp is either Mars or Rahu or even in the star of Mars or Rahu, then he will be spendthrift. If it is Saturn or Jupiter, he will be very economical and stead fastnes, will not give money easily.

65. To be cheated

The 12th house indicates cheating. Rahu, Moon and Mercury must be involved in cheating cases. Rahu indicates frauds and dishonesty, Moon indicates cunning mentality, and Mercury indicates cleverness, force, logic etc.

If the cuspal sub lord of 12th be the significator (in the star of occupant or owner) of 5 (11th from 7), 8 (2nd for 7/monetary gain to other party) and 12 (permanent losses) and connected to any manner with Rahu, Moon and Mercury, then there is possibility that one can be cheated.

The 2nd cusp sub lord should be deposited in the significators of 6th and 10th houses, and connected to Saturn and Mercury in some manner by conjunction or aspect with the sub lord of the 2nd cusp.

66. Financial Status

If the sub lord of the 2nd cusp is in the star of a depositor in 6th or 11th and connected to well-placed Venus and Jupiter, indicates very good financial status for him. If the star lord is deposited in 2nd or 10th, moderate affluence. If deposited at 3rd or 1st, he will have just satisfactory conditions prevail.

67. Missing person

In the question of the missing person, the sublord of the 1st cusp signifies 2, 8 and 11, he is sure to return in the period of the significators of 2, 8 and 11, as is the case being consulted by the kith and kin of the missing one.

68. Secret Relation

If the sub lord of the 2nd cusp be connected in any manner to the 11th house, then one may have secret connections with another's wife other than his legal partner, provided if the 5th house significators are connected to the 2nd house also. Such an event's timing for a native is to judge from 2nd, 5th, and 11th house cusp sub lords and the significators of these houses. (In other words, it indicates one's usage of other's property also, such using others' cars, motor cycle, pen, text-books etc, etc.

69. Earn Secretly

If the sub lord of the 2nd cusp, becomes a significator to the 2nd and 11th or by conjunction with either of the significators of the 2nd or 11th, and in a key post, he will get money in a secret way or under the table in his transactions.

70. Speaking ability

Prof. K.S.K says if the sublord of the 2nd cups is Mercury one speaks a lot, best fitted for salesman, insurance agent, propagandist etc. If the sub lord is Mars, one will be blunt and outspoken, if it is Saturn, he speaks a little and he drags on, if it is Jupiter then wise talk, if it is Venus, mostly the talk will be about the other sex or sexual matters. If it is Rahu or Ketu then defect

71. Stammer to Speak

If the sublord of 2nd cusp or 7th lord is afflicted by Ketu, the person may stammer to speak. Therefore, if the 2nd cusp (speaking ability) sublord or 2nd house falls under mute sign viz. Cancer, Scorpio and Pisces and connected with Ketu and Mercury simultaneously then the person will stammer to speak indeed.

72. Defect in Hearing and Deaf

If the 3rd cusp sub lord signifies the 12th house and duly connected to Mars, one will have defective hearing. If a planet is in the star of the lord of the 3rd and if that house is unoccupied, the said planet will become the significator to that house in the 1st grade. If that 3rd house significator is in the sub of a planet that is a significator to the 6th house, which indicates disease, will make the native a defect in hearing and deaf. This is the dictum of K.P. and can be used universally. in speech, if Rahu o Ketu is in 12, defect in vision, if they are in 2, defect in speech.

Mute Signs and speech deformities  

Cancer, Scorpio, and Pisces are mute signs.  

1. If Mercury lording the 6th is posited in the 2nd house in a mute sign, or the lord of the 6th is posited in the 2nd in a mute sign afflicted by Mars or Saturn, perceptible stammer, lisp, or other impediment will be the result.  
2. Mercury anywhere in mute signs afflicted by Saturn, causes stammer.  
3. If Mars adds his influence to a bad aspect, then the native will talk very fast, lisp, or pronounce his words badly.  
4. When Mercury happens to be in a mute sign in opposition to the Moon, the native will have a defect in speech.  
5. Saturn in the Lagna in a mute sign causes a speech impediment.  
6. The 2nd house governs vocal organs. If a voice sign (Gemini, Libra, or Aquarius are called musical or voice signs; some western authors consider Virgo and Sagittarius also - some also include Taurus) is found in the 2nd house in a horoscope, especially if Venus or Mercury is posited there and free from affliction, then eloquence or some vocal gift may be predicted. Jupiter indicates that one will offer advice, preach, and/or will be a platform speaker. Mars and Jupiter give the native assertion, making him an orator who can move the masses by his fiery speech. Mercury and Saturn show that he will modify his speech according to the time, circumstances, and crowd before him.
   

73. Lottery gains

Judge the 3rd, 8th, and 11th houses sub lords. If the 3rd cusp sub lord connected to the significators of 2nd-6th-11th, during their periods one gets gains by lottery tickets mostly.

If the sub lord of the 11th cusp is in the star of the occupant or owner of 2, 6 or 11 and not is in the star of the occupant or owner of 8, 12 or 5 (i.e. 2, 6 and 11 from 7th - gain to the opposite party) and if it is connected the house 3 the native will gain through lottery.
