SIGNIFICANCE OF TRANSIT

SIGNIFICANCE OF TRANSIT

The entrance of the planet into the sign is called transit or Gochara. Gochara means Go = Planets at present and Chara = Moving at present. Technically, the passage of a planet by ephemeral motion. Apparent passage of heavenly body across the disc of another or meridian of place. The Transit effect of the planets is studied in respect to the position of the moon at the time of birth. Nowadays many astrologers read transit results in respect to Ascendant in case of short-term events. While so moving they excite the forces of radiation from the grandiose stars for good or bad to penetrate over everything on earth, and we human beings are also subjected to these radiating forces. When we are subjected to it we undergo subtle change, physically, mentally and morally, for good or bad. We understand this and we are very clear about it. We have more than enough information about this transit from Sun (as per westerners) and Moon Lagna of our Hindu system or Traditional system. Our revered Guruji Late Prof. K.S. Krishnamurti has already said that both are defective. Then let us not waste our time and energy, we will stick to what KP says.

According to the K. P. system, the planet which transits in a sign is the source by which one has his desire fulfilled. The lord of the constellation (star) indicates the nature of the result. The sub shows whether it is desirable or undesirable by its lordship of the houses owned by him. Hence, the planet is the source constellation indicating the nature of the result and the sub is a deciding factor whether the matter (event) is favourable or not. A planet may own any house; but when it transits, it gives such matters as signified by the lord of constellation by lord ship occupation and its nature.

Houses 1, 2, 3, 6, 10 and 11 promise good results. Planets must be judged by considering the star (constellation) occupied by them. Houses 6, 8, 12 are evil and are referred to as "Dusthanas". The sublord getting the lordship of 6 or 8 or 12 gives adverse results while the lordship of 1, 2, 3, 6, 10 and 11 gives favourable results. The nature of the results whether favourable or not to him viz. querist/consultant is depending on the sublord owning the houses above. Whether a planet is a benefic or a malefic to the native (or querist) may be viewed if the planet is advantageous or disadvantageous to him when benefic dealing or with a malefic a particular house. Hence, no planet is wholly benefic or malefic.

The following Golden Rules of KP Astrology, mainly KP Stellar Theory of Starlord VS. Sublord.

  1.       If the star lord is favourable and the sublord also is favourable, the matter (event) indicated by the star lord will be fully favourable, then the native enjoys.
  2.       If the star lord indicates beneficial results and the sublord shows adverse results, then the star lord also will turn evil and adverse results will be felt. Apparently, it may seem that the event is going to take place, but eventually it will hold.
  3.       If the star lord denotes evil results and the sublord denotes beneficial results, the native may find temporary relief from the adverse results. However, after some obstacles or hindrances, the event will take place.
  4.       If the star lord offers adverse results and the sublord also is unfavourable, the native wholly suffers from the adverse results.

In accordance with these principles, during the conjoined period of Dasa, Bhukti and Antara, whenever the planets ruling the Dasa, Bhukti and Antara periods or the Luminaries viz. Sun and Moon or the Ascendant (Lagna) transit the three sensitive positions, the events will take place according to the nature of the star lord and sublord.

We are mostly aware of the fact that the slow-moving planet in transit denote the period in general e.g. Saturn takes about 13 months in each Nakshatra or Constellation. Rahu and Ketu take 8 months, while Jupiter takes about 5 months and 10 days. Mars takes a few days viz. 20 days or so. Mercury and Venus are not uniform in their motion. Sun is very regular in motion and stays in one Nakshatra or Constellation for about 13 days. Moon in transit should be observed in the first instance for future guidance, because they show day to day results. Here a question may arise in the minds of the readers now, why Lagna transit also is a must? In this context, the answer is that, Ascendant or Lagna takes about two hours to move from one sign to another. It lasts in one Star or Nakshatra for about 52 minutes. It lasts in one sub for about 5 to 8 minutes. So the accurate minute can be brought out with the help of the Lagna. The moon takes about 24 hours to move from one Nakshatra to the other. It lasts in one Sub for about three hours. So can easily bring out the exact hour with the help of Moon transit depending upon the other parameters of the horoscope.

TRANSIT IN SUB CONSTELLATION OR SUB - Partha Sarathi Rout

The slow-moving planets like Saturn while transitting through one star remain in one sub constellation or sub for many weeks. Jupiter, Rahu and Ketu remain in one sub for many days. So, their effects will be felt in general during these times.

Sun remains in one sub for a period from one to three days; while Moon for about three hours. Sun and Moon show specific effects for a particular day and hour, so they are most important.

It may be remembered that the sub lord of the transitting planet should be connected with or it should not be detrimental to the matters indicated by the star lord of the transitting planet. It is described as follows:

a. Take an example Horoscope and suppose where it was observed that whenever the native received money from others when Sun or Moon were transitting in the star area of Jupiter or Venus (the significator if 2), and also Mercury (the significator of 11) These luminaries were at that time in the sub area of Jupiter or Venus or Mercury or any planet connected with the matter of the houses 2, 6, 10 or 11.

b. Suppose in a particular birth horoscope it was observed in the past that whenever the work of writing books was going on, the planets were transiting in the star area of Mars or Rahu (the significators of 9). It also continued during the time when the planets were transiting the star area of Mercury or Sun (the significators of 3, 10 and 12).

c. The work of writing was active during the days when Sun or Mars were transitting in the star area of Mercury or Rahu.

Many communications and contacts with different persons were made during the days when Sun or Moon were transitting in the star area of Mercury or Sun (significator or 3 and 10).

It was also observed that when the printing work of books was going on, the planets were transitting in the star area of Mars or Rahu (the significator of 9 and 11).

Sun or Moon were transiting in the star area of Mars or Rahu during the days when printing work was in full swing.

d. Suppose in an example Horoscope it was observed that whenever the health was bad the planets were transitting in the star area of Jupiter or Rahu (significator of 1, 6 and 12) and in the sub area of Saturn (the significator of 8). It was especially so when the Sun or Moon were trasitting in the star area or Jupiter or Rahu and in the sub area of Saturn. Sun or Moon generally transited in the star and sub area of Saturn when health was badly impacted.

Now, we can escalate three important transit rules which are:

i. Planets during transit as and when they graze through the planets in the Natal chart, then one should be very careful. Usually, they create sudden and undesirable results.

ii. A Planet in which Sub it is in the Natal chart or Horary chart, during transit the same planet moving in the same Sub operates the matter going to be fructified.

iii. On the rectification process of birth time, observe the Sun transit on the day when you work. Sun moving in which Sub that Sub will help you to correct the birth time.

Hence, the transit rules and their practical application stated as above may be applied in the Natal as well as Hora chart for timing of the events in the sway of KP astrology.
