RAHU IN THE 5TH HOUSE

It has to be recalled that the 5th house concerns education, wisdom, intelligence, experience, and also pregnancy; its successful continuance till delivery, health and longevity of the new born, management capacity of the individual. Rahu is a shadow planet, but in the 5th house it is perfectly effective whether in conjunction with a solid star or not. Rahu generates and controls ‘ego’ in the mind of every individual, even in childhood and school days.

Thus sometimes the child becomes over confident about performance in studies, which ultimately makes the foundation weak and the child suffers setbacks in education at the final stage of school leaving exams and then in the admission to college for higher studies. Therefore parents of children with Rahu in the 5th house should stay extra careful for laying a strong foundation for studies, check diversion of mind of the child, and supervise effectively the home work. Generally it has been observed that kids with Rahu in the 5th house are given to mild or serious mischief, excuses, interest in games/ playground/ Visual Media/ music/ talking to fellow students and companions, neighbourhood children. If Venus is also in the 5th house, such kids take interest in the gossip among women even in sophisticated families. This element of mischief and diversion prevails upto the age of 16 to 18 years, and warrants greater caution on the parts of parents, guardians and elders.

Rahu in the normal course doesn’t create trouble at the time of the delivery of the child. But sometimes a minor mistake is committed by the midwife, nurse, or doctor or anyone attending the delivery process in disconnecting the umbilical cord, which might later on necessitate a minor surgery of the naval button of the mother or the child.

However it may be noted that if Rahu is in conjunction with Jupiter in the 5th house, none of the unfavourable points mentioned herein above would occur. If Venus is within 12 degrees of Rahu in the 5th house, the couple may observe restraint to protect the pregnancy. From the completion of the 5th month, the risk of abortion or termination of the pregnancy by Rahu’s influence starts waning.

However it has been generally observed that the progeny of these individuals may not be kept very tidy in their childhood, at least upto the age of 9 years.

Rahu gives theoretical efficiency in management, but unless Mars, Mercury or Jupiter is in the 5th house or in the 11th house, individuals with Rahu in the 5th house are not so very practical in management, particularly that of an industrial venture or manufacturing unit. If Rahu is alone in the 5th house, the individuals are lenient and liberal in matters concerning wages, allowances, overheads and other expenses, though this attitude reduces the level of profits.
