RAHU IN THE 4TH HOUSE

It is generally believed that Rahu (and its counterpart Ketu) give only shadow results, but it has been observed that Rahu in the 4th house gives solid results, both good and bad.  

The individual first suffers high expectations of the mother about the individual’s performance in studies and in earlier stages of career. Later on, if mother’s expectations remain fully or partly unfulfilled, she feels belittled in her own eyes as well as in the eyes of near and dear ones. The individual is often not able to do anything concrete in this regard, except remain a mute The individual expects monetary and moralistic boosting from the mother between the age of 14 and 28 years, and if the expectation is unfulfilled, the individual feels frustrated in relations with the mother.  

The individual is often very ambitious about own rise in career, bypassing others in competition, owning substantial real estate, making a show of charitable and socialite nature. In case the individual is from low family stock, he or she tries to somehow gain high standing in the social and work circles. The individual is fond of developing contacts with higher-ups merely to show off own status, and doesn’t hesitate to pretend contacts with higher-ups even if they are not there. In other words, it is the hidden sense of ‘ego’ at work again. In this process the individual has no hitch in running down others without their fault, offence or guilt.  

These individuals often grow fat around the belly, buttocks and breast, while the spouse remains lean and thin, unless the stars of the spouse also indicate otherwise. Further the spouse sometimes suffers from an inferiority complex, particularly when in the company of the life-partner. These individuals are fond of good and tasty food, not bothering about their health and body weight gained therefrom. After the age of 36 years, these individuals start to have complaints of the digestive system and by the age of 54, they need regular medication on this behalf.  

They are very often willing participants in any drive for social, charitable, medical, educational projects of public utility; contribute money too for the purpose, but more than money, they exert themselves for the program or project. By doing so, they seek recognition and respectability in the society.  

Rahu’s position in the 4th house should be studied properly with regard to progeny (getting children). If the wife is careless during the 3rd and 4th months of pregnancy, it can either be termination of pregnancy or may lead to minor defects to the embryo. It is often so if Rahu’s antardasa is running in Mars or Saturn mahadasa or Rahu is in transit over the 4th, 5th or 12th house in Birth-chart.
