RAHU IN GENERAL
Share
Since Rahu’s (and Ketu’s) combination with other stars (Sun, Moon, Mars, Mercury, Jupiter, Venus and Saturn) has already been discussed in the earlier relevant chapters, here we are discussing only the influence of Rahu (and Ketu) in the 12 Houses.
It needs no mention that Rahu and Ketu, the shadow planets are always 7:7 apart from each other; therefore the question of their combination with each other never arises.
Being shadow planets, they do not enjoy casting any drishti on any stars or any houses, although in modern times, some over-enthusiast astrologers have started attributing and attaching drishti to Rahu (and Ketu) too. In Indian astrology, Rahu is the Head of the Demon, and Ketu is Torso (Tail) of the Demon. Therefore logically the body of the Demon cut into two parts can have no drishti or Vision as such
Similarly, these two (shadow) stars do not own any house (Rasi) as such, though again some astrologers attribute this or that Rasi as their ownership. But even amongst mid-ancient astrologers there had never been any agreement on which particular Rasi was owned by Rahu (or Ketu) or which Rasi constituted exaltation and debilitation position for Rahu (and Ketu). Evenso, if the readers want to take some Rasi as owned by Rahu (and Ketu), and some other Rasi as house of Exaltation for Rahu, they are free to do so.
They must do so after checking up their viewpoint by critical observation for some years, by study of different horoscopes, of people from different walks of life and if possible from different parts of the world, which is so closely knit now.
