MOON IN THE 1ST HOUSE

MOON IN THE 1ST HOUSE

The individual is often self-centred and feels lonely even when sitting in any company of one or more persons or even in an audience, or hearing a case, or speaking from a public platform. When speaking from a public platform or arguing before any court or tribunal or officer, the individual dwells upon the same subject for long. While talking about one point, the individual starts talking about another point just in between, and in the process either returns to the previous point abruptly or forgets the previous point altogether. The same thing happens when the individual is participating in any talk or conversation with one or more persons.

Judges in courts of law, in tribunals, in appellate authority often pick up a single point in the arguments or submissions, and deal with that point in great detail. In doing so, they often neglect or overlook other points even if the other points were more important to the subject matter before them than the single point grasped by them. This tendency quite often leads to injustice or wrong justice, making the litigants or appellants suffer the consequence without any fault on their part.

These individuals are sometimes considered as given more to the objective side of a matter, and get governed more by their emotions than by factual position.

If Moon is in a waning process at birth, sometimes (not always, and not in every case) it gives partial or complete deafness, a squint in the eyes, tendency to utter critical and taunting remarks in conversation as also in written language. Moon is quickly affected in giving results by the other planet(s) in conjunction with it, and Moon’s results get increased or diminished accordingly.

It is believed that if the Moon is in waxing position, it gives a fair complexion and a charming face thereby influencing the personality of the individual. Now fair or dark complexion is a relative matter depending on several factors, including family traditions, the country's nearness to or distance from Equator and climate of that region. The same theory applies with regard to charming faces. The outlook on this point differs from person to person.

If it is in a waning process, it adversely affects the facial appearance (not necessarily and not always). Moon adversely affects the financial status of the individual as compared to others in the family or in the same source of income or in the same social status.

Moon has got direct concern with the education of the individual, specially when with soft planets. It helps in receiving complete education at a stretch without break. If the Moon is with a hard planet(s), including Rahu or Ketu, it gives gaps in education, often reaching the final aim in education by self-effort.

Moon is very much concerned with chances of survival of the infant within the first one or two years of birth, which would depend to a great extent on the Rasi in the first house, placement of its lord, and Moon’s relations with that lord of the 1st house. However after the age of two years, Moon doesn’t keep direct concern with the longevity of the individual.

And lastly the question of mind is there. Many individuals with Moon in the 1st house are given to whimsical thinking, often reflecting in their actions and conversations or decisions and judgement, a hint to which has already been given above. The whims and fast-changing mood lead to correct or wrong actions and decisions or judgements. Special care of mental health of the individual is needed if Scorpio or Capricorn or Aquarius is in the 1st house, and the lord of that Rasi (Mars or Saturn) is in the 2nd, 12th or 6th or 8th house. Then the individual develops mental disturbance or even disorders now and then, warranting medical examination and treatment. If Mars is lord of the 1st house, it would give uncalled for bad temper and anger to the individual. If Saturn is lord of the 1st house, it would give obstinacy and stubbornness bordering on an unstable mind and mentality. These conditions of the mind are the preliminary indications of partial or slow and steady insanity. All the more so if the Moon is in Aries or and things go worse if Mars too is in the 1st house with the Moon. The chances are that complaints of mental trouble start giving indication at the age of 28 years. If Saturn is lord of the Rasi in the 1st house, and Saturn is in conjunction with Moon, or casting more than 45 out of 60 drishti on Moon, the complaints of mental trouble start giving indications before the age of 40 years, rather after the age of 30 years.

But an astrologer shouldn't jump to conclusions at the first glance of the ownership of the 1st house, and that lord's placement in the 2nd/ 6th/ 8th or 12th house. One must examine in detail the Mahadasa and its sub-periods as also transit of Saturn in the 2nd, 8th or 12th house, or transit of retrograde Mars in the 2nd, 7th, 8th or 12th house. And the astrologer mustn't overlook the positions of Moon, Mars and Saturn in the Navamsha chart, be it a man or woman. Further full attention has to be paid to the yearly chart(s) covering the specific periods of transit of Mars and/ or Saturn. Only then an astrologer should arrive at a conclusion and even then he or she should be careful in choosing the actual words for communication of that conclusion to the person concerned or her or his relatives and others. Cases of this category must always be treated as top secret, not for quoting even as an example!

One point is repeated concerning the Moon in the 1st house. It gives considerable self-confidence, as also the capacity to maintain secrecy (where needed), and varied capacity to think and plan with undivided attention. The same rule applies to the working of the individual, who generally dislikes interference in the course of working, no doubt having an open mind towards constructive and really useful suggestions (rather than commands)!
