MOON IN THE 10TH HOUSE

This is one of the most important positions of the Moon in a birth chart or even in a yearly chart.

Moon is capable of giving great fame and widespread publicity to an individual for own work, for achievement in the field of activity, for any single great action of bravery or social service.

In so far as career by way of regular service or job or even piece-meal service is concerned, Moon gives struggle and delay in progress or promotion or a raise in salary or perquisites.

Even individuals born in a village, or ordinary family in remote areas, in less populated towns get widespread fame for their achievement in any field. Moon is concerned normally with fame only, not with notoriety, unless Saturn or Rahu is hitting Moon’s effect from inside the 10th house or from an angle befitting for hitting.

It is not a path of comfort and flowers for these individuals in achieving fame and success in their effort. At every step struggle and hard work, constantly and continuously, constitute their normal fate throughout life.

Moon gives the individual a typical kind of underground and unspoken understanding with the father, rarely so much with the mother, though on birth the individual gets the longest breast feeding by the mother.

Moon often gives the individual close contact with top people in power and authority, but he or she rarely secures any gain in cash or kind or for progress in sources of income from such people in position and power. The people in positions of power are not responsible for it. It is the individual who deems fit to achieve every thing, (even success, fame and honour, progress or promotion) by effort of self and self alone, and not as an obligation from others.

The individual with Moon in 10th house very often suffers from envy and jealousy everywhere and from everyone. But at the same time, generally ladies high and low always help and support the individual.

It is a tragedy with these individuals that they are often dry natured about the fine arts (including music and dance), in romance and advancement of gestures of love, so much so that they are not responsive to such gestures made by the other side. It seems as if they have no concern with anything except their studies in school and college and their work in youth and old age. They generally have more than one source of income, but they are not given to avoidance or evasion of taxes.

When in a job or regular service, they are sincere to their work, attend to such work as is considered difficult by others, and do not mind working day and night continuously. But they cannot stand any rebuke, any scolding, any adverse comment on their face from their superiors and employers. This tendency quite often proves a hurdle in their progress, because many superiors and employers are more interested in blind obedience and total blind tolerance rather than hard and devoted work, at least in government or semi-government or public sector offices.

Very often they have to start their career with incomplete education or at an immature age, and then they have a third angle to their activity, that is two sources of income, and the third one educating themselves by own effort, standard or as required for progress and promotion etc.

It is very surprising that even ancient astrologers haven’t attached much importance to Moon, when alone, in the 10th house. And then their blind followers as well as half-baked teachers and students in astrology do not go into details of Moon’s extra beneficial position for the individual in the 10th house, moreso when it alone is there.

Moon gives chances of large-scale gains from foreigners, foreign countries and also by foreign travels and tours. In fact the individual gets better recognition and respect from foreigners than from their own countrymen, moreso if Gemini, Cancer, Virgo, or Pisces is in the 10th house.
