KETU IN THE 1ST HOUSES

KETU IN GENERAL

It has to be borne in mind that normally Ketu gives results parallel to that of Mercury, and unlike Rahu, when alone, Ketu rarely gives more than 50 per cent results of its position in any particular house.

Further Ketu is not very operative in the Navamsha-chart, and not at all in the Trinshansha-chart, because in Trinshansha-chart, Ketu occupies the same house as that by Rahu, and therefore it is totally inoperative in Trinshansha-chart. Some learned astrologers do not mention Ketu in the Trinshansha-chart, which chart is very important in the horoscopes of females for study of marriage, married life and relations with husband and his family.

KETU IN THE 1ST HOUSE

The individual is gifted with intelligence and sharp ‘grasping power’ but without the support of Mercury or Jupiter, the individual is generally not able to make full and apparent use of own intelligence, wisdom and power to grasp a subject taught or learnt. Generally brothers, sisters, cousins and fellow students in school and college and colleagues in career run-down the individual with regard to his or her intelligence and power to grasp, and the individual is to an extent helpless in the matter.

This tendency on part of self and the unhelpful attitude of the near and dear ones develops a sense of fear and timidity in the individual sometimes resulting in withdrawal symptoms. This fear complex prevails to a certain degree in the individual even after marriage and even after birth of a child. On the other hand, the individual does not entertain fear from wife and children, though entertains fears pertaining to them.

The individual lacks wickedness and cruelty, and is sometimes exploited by wicked and cruel persons. Their own brethren also keep aloof in such situations, unless the individual has hard planets in the 3rd, 6th or 11th houses, or soft planets (Mercury, Jupiter and to an extent Venus) in the 5th, 9th or the 10th house.

Another problem with these individuals is that during school and college life, they come to adverse notice for faults and offenses of others.

The favourable result of Ketu in the 1st house is that in career, if the individual gets work warranting use of intelligence and experience, he or she gets success and appreciation of those who matter.
