JUPITER IN THE 4TH HOUSE

This 4th house is one of the most advantageous positions of Jupiter, because this house concerns mother, breast feeding in infancy, food in later life, shelter or home i.e. residence.

The 4th house rules also means of transport, heart, right shoulder, right-side ribs, right breast/ chest, digestive system vis-à-vis stomach, respiratory system, medical treatment and its success or failure. It further concerns ownership of property, co-operation or contribution in construction of social and charitable buildings like schools, colleges, dispensaries, hospitals, shelter homes for poor and old-age persons, shelters for orphans or nari-niketans.

The individual has chances of being adopted by someone in better financial status than the natural parents. Jupiter also dominates ownership of bullion, ornaments and jewellery, timber and wood-work decoration of premises in the 4th house.

One major function of the 4th house is domestic happiness, and Jupiter often ensures that domestic harmony is maintained at all costs. In case of interference in it by association of hard planets, Jupiter becomes helpless and surrenders to the influence of hard planets as Jupiter is (astrologically) an aged planet, less competent to struggle or conflict.

Thus, it is noteworthy that all “life giving” elements are the subject matter of the 4th house, including failure of functioning of the heart or the respiratory system which prove fatal to human life. These days, trade-union leaders and political slogan-mongers shout from roof-tops that every human needs ‘roti, kapada aur makkan’ (food, cloth and roof over the head), and all these three important elements for human life are governed by the 4th house. Jupiter in the 4th house, whatever Rasi are there, is in rather the best position to help in acquiring or getting these basic needs.

Jupiter has, from the 4th house, direct drishti on the 10th house, which rules sources of livelihood for every human being.

Thus Jupiter in the 4th house influences the means of livelihood. Jupiter even in a debilitated position in the 4th house proves beneficial and advantageous, though the channels and means of such benefits and the results of the 4th house might not be of such high standards or purely satisfactory ones. 

So far as students, scholars, researchers, teachers, accountants, judges, jurists, lawyers and economists are concerned, Jupiter gives them high-class proficiency, and because Jupiter has higher than normal drishti on the 12th house, Jupiter has a scope to adversely affect the name and fame to the individual concerned. Relationships with a natural mother or adopting mother or foster mother depend to a great extent on association of stars with the 4th house and Jupiter sitting therein, but as far as Jupiter is concerned, the relationship is normally cordial, kind and affectionate.
