JUPITER IN THE 3rd HOUSE

Jupiter plays tricks in this house, and warning is specially given in the case of students and people engaged in physical labour as a source of livelihood.  

Students initially pose a weakness of memory in their studies as they are some; it becomes the real default in their studies as they are unable to answer all (desired) questions as they do in the examination.

For adults, this position of Jupiter gives a tendency to calculated work, this much work only, for that much wages. The calculations often prove wrong and, therefore, sometimes unproductive too.  

In calculated work the problem is that the calculation of time, energy, and labour might not always correspond with the volume of work, and the work doesn’t get completed in full. It matters little when the work is being done for the government or public-sector undertaking, but it matters when the individual is working for any private sector company or for self-employed. It matters also when it is self-employment, job for piece rate wages, the factor of time and effort counts, there too. Jobs estimated for unwritten government and public-sector work can be estimated for 10 to 20 years. The cost of the work should not exceed multiples of 10 times, whether justified or not, by a drop in the economic graph.  

Jupiter affects, rather adversely, the relationship with father, sisters, or means directly affecting the relationship with younger brothers or sisters. If Jupiter is in the 3rd house, Jupiter adversely affects the relationship with brothers or sisters of self, and spouses are helpful to one another. However, if Jupiter is in Gemini or Libra, Sagittarius or in Capricorn or Aquarius, then the relationship is on the basis of 'give and take', with no affection.  

Because Jupiter has from the 3rd house angular full drishti on the 9th and 5th houses, developments adversely affect the mutual relationship between the husband and wife.  

Jupiter in the 3rd house makes an individual quite ambitious and often boasts of own capacities and capabilities, and also of friends, influence and approaches, which often prove a hollow boast. It has been mentioned above that these individuals are capable of work (assigned or undertaken) with regard to quantum and quality of work (assigned or undertaken) with regard to quantum and quality of work (assigned or undertaken) with ambition. Therefore, while predicting about anyone’s future with ambition, the astrologer must keep in mind that Jupiter in the 3rd house might not prove helpful in achieving one’s ambitions or desires in life. In a sense, Jupiter alone in 3rd doesn’t make a person hardworking or brave.  

Jupiter in 3rd has direct full drishti on the 9th house, these individuals, at least some of them, show great devotion and enthusiasm in pursuing religious and charitable programs. It is a different matter whether they do so with a selfless sense of duty and responsibility or with ulterior motives. In some rare cases, Jupiter’s direct drishti on the 9th house from the 3rd house brings sudden good luck to the individual, specially when Jupiter is in favourable transit or has its own mahadasa or antardasa.  

Jupiter alone doesn’t normally give a rude, crude, and cruel attitude to the individual, who might, under pressure of Mars, Saturn or Rahu from 3rd, 8th or 9th house, connive in crude and cruel behaviour or actions of others.
